Opened as a motorcycle circuit in 1932, Hockenheim has changed fundamentally several times. The Motodrom arrived in 1966, while the 2002 rebuild replaced the long woodland sections with today’s more compact route. The Grand Prix circuit measures 4,574 metres; that distance must not be assigned to every other configuration. Planning a visit means looking beyond racing history. Tourist-driving sessions separate cars and motorcycles and identify the GP or IDM course for each date. Race’n’Roll supplies cars and instructors for a distinct short course. Spectators need the relevant admission; tourist driving, a race weekend and a booked driving experience are different products.
