Imola’s autodrome opened in 1953 with a motorcycle event. Formula 1 cars arrived for a non-championship race in 1963, and the circuit joined the World Championship calendar in 1980. Reconstruction in 2006–2007 and a new motorcycle chicane in 2009 show that the familiar name does not describe one unchanged layout. The official Formula Regional series records the present car course at 4,909 metres. Car and motorcycle configurations are treated separately. Guided visits organised with the official local tourism partner explore the venue’s history, with walking and bus options among the advertised formats. Public walking and cycling days are separate events, never unrestricted motor-vehicle trackdays.
